Chris Mayse

Chris Mayse has worked as a theatre professional for over three decades. He holds a Master of Fine Arts from the Professional Actors Training Program (PATP) at Ohio University.

​

As a performer, Chris has appeared with many of the nation’s leading regional theatres, including the Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Tacoma Actors Guild, Montana Repertory Theatre, Nevada Repertory Theatre, Door Shakespeare, and others.

​

His directing credits include critically acclaimed productions of Sweeney Todd, Anna Karenina, Edmond, No Exit, and Trojan Women 2.0, staged in both Seattle and Las Vegas.

​

Chris is also an accomplished educator, designer, and arts administrator. He founded and led Atlas Theatre in both Seattle and Las Vegas, earning a “Best of” Theatre Company award from Las Vegas Weekly. He later served as Managing Artistic Director of Seattle Musical Theatre, the city’s longest-running musical theatre company.

His performance work has extended to Boise, ID, with companies such as Boise Contemporary Theater, Alley Repertory Theater, HomeGrown Theatre, and Playhouse Boise. In his hometown of Las Vegas, he rejoined the cast of Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding at Bally’s Hotel and Casino.

Chris has also directed staged readings of new plays and appeared in commercial and print campaigns through NXNW Productions in Boise. Chris is currently based in Wisconsin.
